Skylights

The skylight replaces one of the steel roof panels. When placing your skylight, first build your building and leave out the panels where the skylights go. At this point caulk the seam of the skylight with a silicon caulking available from local hardware stores. Now place the skylight in the empty holes along the arch, squaring the skylight into place. With one person on top of the building holding the skylight in place, this person must line up the skylight ½ inch past the boltholes, as shown in the illustration shown.

Make sure the skylight is square on both ends. You need a person inside the building on a ladder to drill up through the arch on the flat belly of the arch. Then install 4 bolts in these 4 holes. Drill your next 4 holes on the right side of the arch. Now install these 4 bolts. Install the same way on the other side of the arch.

Now working down the length of the arch on both sides, drive no more than 2 bolts at a time, insert bolts then go to the other side. Drill 2 holes and insert bolts. Repeat this procedure until you get to the other end of the skylight. Then go to belly of arch and repeat this procedure until you finish.

We recommend on Q and S models, installing the skylight at the peak of the building. The A building skylight takes the place of the flat roof panel. CAUTION: The skylight is not as strong as the steel panel it replaces. We recommend you place skylights every 20 feet of building length.
