Pre-Building Assembly FAQ's

How do I determine the proper location of my building on my own property according to local code?

Before beginning site preparation you MUST check with local building officials to determine any and all property lines and setbacks.

What do I do when my site is not level?

You may want to consider laying a block foundation to bring the site up to level and using US Buildings approved metal C-Channel or industrial connector to attach your building to the block foundation. See Accessory page. If I have to use fill dirt to level site will it support my building? Due to local regulations in your area you must check with local building officials to determine if your site is properly prepared.

How can I construct my building if I cannot prepare a level site?

In some areas you may want to consider using fill dirt to bring your site to level. If you choose to do fill dirt you will need to check with your local building department. Make sure that your soil will sustain 1000 PSF which is needed for your building on fill dirt. In some cases you may be able to bring your site level by laying a block foundation and using US Buildings metal c-channel or industrial connector to attach your building to the block foundation.
