Maintenance
Cleaning your building:
Although your US Building is a maintenance-free structure, it will still require
at least an annual cleaning to keep the appearance looking the best that it
can and keep the building looking new for years to come. There are a couple
of different ways to clean your building. If you have access to a power washer
cleaning system and a garden pump sprayer such as car wash in a bottle or
a gentle dishwashing detergent, ( DO NOT USE ANY ACIDIC CLEANERS SUCH AS LEMON
FRESH, DEGREASERS OF ANY KIND, OR ALUMINUM CLEANERS AS THESE WILL DISCOLOR
THE BUILDING), simply mix following the directions or dilute as necessary
into spray bottle. Spray on building. Let sit (but not dry). Spray off with
power washer. This done on a regular basis will be quite easy and do a sufficient
job. The other method is to simply use the same cleaning agents, mild cleaners
( no lemon fresh, degreasers, or aluminum cleaners). Simply wash like a car.
Apply with brush on handle and rinse off.
Bolt Maintenance:
Sometimes the bolts can catch particles of dirt, and start to discolor. This
does not mean that they are defective. They will still stay tight, leak free
and maintenance free. This is more of a cosmetic discoloration. Simply touch
up bolts with a silver colored paint.
Snow maintenance:
The buildings are gauged from our minimum of 22 gauge for a light snow area
and up to 14 gauge for a heavy snow area. You will need to supply US Buildings
the information from your building inspector so that US Buildings can "spec
in" the appropriate gauged building to meet the loadings of your area.
Your building has been designed to meet the loads of your local area where
your building will withstand normal snowfall. However, the weather has been
changing drastically over the last few years. If you had a normal snowfall
and the temperature has not risen enough for that snow to melt off of your
building and the local weathermen is predicting a larger than normal snowfall
coming in you will need to maintain your building by keeping the snow off
the roof of your building. IMPORTANT NOTICE: DO NOT GET ON YOUR BUILDING UNLESS
YOU HAVE PROPERLY BRACED IT FROM INSIDE.
