Endwalls

Important: Your building must be completed with all arches stood and all bolts tightened before starting construction of the end wall. The first step on your end walls is to install the foam in between the inner and outer curved angles. This will insure a tight and weatherproof seal. To find the center point of your end wall, you should measure from the inner part of your curved angle on one side to the inner part of your curved angle on the other side. Take that number and divide in ½ and mark your foundation with a crayon at the center point. To make sure your mark is correct, take a tape measure and measure from the right curved angle to center mark and record that number.

Now take the tape measure and measure from the left curved angle to the center mark. Mark and record that number. These numbers must be the same. You now have a correct center point. Now take the size of your door opening on your blueprint and take ½ that measurement and mark the center of the opening. Now make a mark to the left and a mark to the right, ½ the distance of the opening.

Install your end wall panels by installing the leading edge on each mark.

By using a ladder, first person holding the end wall panel in place, second person climbs ladder and marks the end wall at the high side and low side of curved angles of the building. Draw mark from high point to low point and trim panel along that line. Now install that panel, by placing the panel into foam in curved angle and then slide bottom into footer. Repeat this procedure to the left side of crayon mark next. After installing second panel using drift pins, line up your holes, install bolts finger tight. Repeat this procedure right to left till end wall is completed. Once end walls are completed tighten bolts.

Important: Remember to start with longest panels in center installing panels from tallest to shortest moving left and right.

Important: After fourth end wall panel is in place start using strapping to keep end wall in place as you go.

Corner flat panels will need to be attached next to outer curved angles by drilling through curved angle and corned flat panel every 9" starting at 1" from bottom and working up as shown on following illustration.

After installing end wall panels to the left and right of opening you will need to install stiffeners. The stiffeners will need to be trimmed only at the top to fit smugly into curved angles. Place stiffeners so they go on the outside of the end wall panels and into opening with welded L-brackets (picture) pointing in to opening. Your L-brackets will be at the height of the door opening. The door height will be determined from the top of the slab, but if you have a key way foundation the L-brackets will be 3 ½" higher on stiffeners. These L-brackets will allow you to set the connector beam at the correct location and helps to hold the connector beam in place while installing. The stiffeners have slotted bolt holes on them which allows them to be plumb and also square the opening. See following illustration.

After installing all the bolts in the stiffeners, except for those above the opening, place the connector beam on L-brackets and hold in place with C-clamps. After making sure the opening is square, drill 2-3 holes as shown through connector beam, stiffeners, and end wall panels and insert bolts with nuts. Tighten down. After the connector beam is in place install the overhead door panels just like your end wall working from the center out. Refer to end wall Framed opening. See illustration.

Next drill a hole (one in each panel) from the outside through the curved angle and end wall panel and place a bolt through the hole and tighten the nut onto the bolt.

Construction Note: It will be easier to drill these hole by placing a 2x4 behind the angles as you drill. Then place nuts and bolts in using this process to finish end wall.

After installing the framed opening and entire end wall, the end wall should be grouted at this time. This will lock the end wall in place.

If there are any spots that need caulking now is the time to do this. Pull foam down, that was placed between the curved angles, around the end wall panels to make a tight seal.

Solid End Wall

Important: Your building must be completed with all arches stood and all bolts tightened before starting construction of end wall. The first step on your end walls is to install the foam in between the inner and outer curved angles. This will assure a tight and weatherproof seal. To find the center point of your end wall you should measure from the inner part of your curved angle on one side to the inner part of your curved angle on the other side. Take that number and divide in ½ and mark your foundation with a crayon at the center point. Now to make sure your mark is correct, take a tape measure and measure from right curved angle to center mark and record that number. Now take the tape measure and measure from the left curved angles to the center mark and record that number. These numbers should be the same. This same procedure will be used on all end walls.

Using the measurements from your drawings, take the longest panel and place it on the right side of the crayon center mark. By using a ladder, the first person holds the end wall panel in place, and the second person climbs the ladder and marks the end wall at the high side and low side of curved angle of the building. Draw mark from high point to low point and trim panel along that line. Now install that panel by placing the panel into foam in curved angle and then slide bottom into footer. Repeat this procedure to the left side of crayon mark next. After installing second panel using drift pins, line up your holes, install bolts finger tight. Repeat this procedure right to left till end wall is completed. Once end walls are completed, tighten bolts.
